Mandalas

For Christmas 2003, I was given a book called Creating Mandalas by Susanne F. Fincher. (I had included "Books about art" on my wishlist.) It wasn't the kind of book I had expected, but I did find parts of it interesting. The mandala is an artform that supposedly acts simultaneously as expression, therapy, and healing agent. By creating a mandala through intuitive methods and subsequently studying what one has drawn, one can supposedly learn about one's feelings, needs, fears, and so on, much like interpreting a dream.
I think the value of this kind of interpretation exists, but is very minimal. On the other hand, it can be fun to do on multiple levels. So, I made a couple of mandalas, and did a little bit of introspection regarding them afterwards, as the book suggested.
A mandala is basically any circular design that comes from the heart, so, well, here you go:
